Plakias is a wonderful resort located between two gorges Kourtaliotis and Kotsifos. Visitors can enjoy swimming in one of the largest beaches of southern Crete with deep blue waters or visit (by car or on foot) beaches such as Barboudi, Ammoudi, Souda, Souda, Schinaria and the famous Preveli beach with its lake and palm trees and the monastery of Preveli which is located near Plakias.

In addition, for nature lovers, the area offers the possibility of several walks to many nearby villages such as Sellia, Myrthios, Mariou, Leykogia, Preveli monastery and Kotsyfou gorge in which you will find a wide variety of wild flowers.

In the evening you can enjoy your meal in an intimate and beautiful environment in one of the taverns of Plakias or even in those located in the surrounding villages. Late in the evening you can have a drink in the nightclubs located around the area.
